slow cooked stories

"Stories are told around the table; otherwise, we have no history."

An intimate and immersive dinner-party performance, Slow Cooked Stories is a unique blend of storytelling, local heritage, and live cooking.

Developed initially with the Malvern community and now touring nationally, Strange Futures gathers heartfelt stories from local residents and serves these narratives around a shared table, accompanied by food prepared by professional chefs.

This captivating show celebrates the diversity, heritage, and experiences within communities, uniting audiences through shared tastes and tales. With evocative storytelling, humour, and delicious food inspired by community recipes, Slow Cooked Stories creates temporary communities and lasting memories at every performance.

The show is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes, including a communal eating interval, and is suitable for ages 12 and above.
